About Pier-Luc Charbonneau

I write about AI, cybersecurity, and governance from the perspective of a sales engineer who has spent nearly twenty years working in complex enterprise environments. I’m interested in the messy space where security controls, human judgment, and organizational incentives collide — especially now that AI systems are becoming part of workflows faster than most institutions can govern them.

Over the course of my career, I have worked in enterprise security, application delivery, and infrastructure transformation at organizations such as Allstream, F5 Networks, HashiCorp, and SentinelOne. Today, I work as a Staff Sales Engineer specializing in AI ethics and security, helping organizations think through the risks that emerge when large language models, automation, and real-world decision-making enter the enterprise.

What interests me most is not AI as a novelty, but AI as a stress test. It exposes weaknesses in governance, shallow assumptions about trust, and operational habits that were fragile long before the models arrived. I am particularly interested in questions like these: what does trust mean when the analyst is partly algorithmic? How do we keep humans meaningfully in the loop? What does responsible adoption look like in regulated or high-stakes environments?

This site is where I explore these questions publicly. You will find writing on AI security, enterprise governance, sales engineering, technical communication, and the human dimension of security strategies. I value concrete ideas, clear language, and approaches grounded in both facts and empathy.

Outside work, I contribute to open source projects, remain deeply involved in local LLM inference and AI tools, and continue building systems that help me better understand where technology is useful, where it becomes dangerous, and where it quietly changes the way we think.

If you are a security leader, technologist, or builder trying to navigate AI adoption without losing judgment, responsibility, or trust, you are in the right place.
